Distribution

Rare. Widely distributed but in small amounts (Lombaard et al,. 1986).

Paragenetic and General Notes

Tenorite occurs mainly as dull black crusts on other minerals, but "rarely as thin, flexible, translucent tablets with irregular borders" (Pinch and Wilson, 1977).

Gebhard (1999) notes the occureence of tenorite as plates and crusts on some azurite crystals.
