Distribution

Common. As a detrital mineral in the feldpathic sandstone ("pseudo-aplite") bodies, derrived from sediments of the Tschudi Formation.

Paragenetic and General Notes

Tremolite is listed as a mineral of the country rock by Pinch and Wilson (1977), and in the more recent lists of Gebhard (1991 and 1999) and Von Bezing et al. (2014). Note, however, that Lombaard et al. (1986) question the validity of its occurrence at Tsumeb.
