Adamite

Mineral: Adamite
Chemistry: Zn2(AsO4)(OH)
Size: 55 mm
Owner: Chris Amo
Photographer: John Schneider

A very rich druse of lustrous, emerald-green cuprian adamite (?) crystals (to 3 mm) associated with a little powdery yellow material that is probably an arsenate of the tsumcorite group - possibly gartrellite (?) or ferrilotharmeyerite (?).

Please note that the composition of the adamite (?) has not been determined, leaving room for the possibility that this is zincolivenite. Nevertheless, this is an attractive example of a very aesthetic combination of minerals.
