Adamite

Mineral: Adamite, Tsumcorite
Chemistry: Zn2(AsO4)(OH)
Size: 50 mm
Owner: Shields and Frances Flynn
Photographer: Shields Flynn

Large, lustrous crystals (to 15 mm) of yellow-orange adamite (analytically confirmed), associated with a carpet of similarly coloured tsumcorite (?) crystals, on a matrix of massive sulphide.

The colour of the adamite suggests that it is very close to end-member composition in the adamite-olivenite series, and these are large crystals for the species.
