Anglesite

Mineral: Anglesite
Chemistry: PbSO4
Size: 65 mm
Owner: Malcolm Southwood
Photographer: Malcolm Southwood

A cluster of mainly gemmy anglesite crystals (to 25mm), showing diverse habits and colours, with a little relict galena. Some of the crystals are colourless and gemmy, some are white and a little milky, and a few are orange-yellow, coloured by inclusions of what might be greenockite (?) (Pinch & Wilson, 1977) or, alternatively, might simply be iron oxides (?).
