Anglesite

Chemistry: PbSO4
Size: 62 mm
Owner: Malcolm Southwood
Photographer: Malcolm Southwood

An elongated, composite anglesite crystal, 62mm in length.  The overall form is reminiscent of a barbed stone-age flint arrowhead.   Much of the crystal is gemmy and colourless, with just a hint of very pale blue. The margins of the crystal are quite cavernous, and heavily included with dark relict sulphide material, probably galena (?), and a later (?) powdery-green mineral, probably arestsumebite (?).
