Beudantite, (on Quartz)

Chemistry: PbFe3+3(As0.5S0.5O4)2(OH)6
Size: 85 mm
Owner: Chris Amo

Lustrous brown crystals of beudantite (to 1 mm) on quartz, with a little cerussite, and a single crystal of yellow wulfenite (6 mm).

The specimen was collected from 26 Level, at the top of the second oxidation zone, and was originally in the collection of Eugene Wilson (a consulting engineer living in Namibia in the 1960s and ‘70s). Wilson's data card shows that he bought this specimen in 1963 from renowned Windhoek mineral dealer, Sid Pieters.
